BIOGRAPHY
With a voice described as "smooth as melting chocolate," Sarah Politte breathes new life into the timeless classics of the Great American Songbook. A two-time All-State Jazz Vocalist rooted in the traditions of legends like Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald, she blends a modern charm with the professional precision and classic style of a seasoned jazz vocalist.
Sarah has performed alongside jazz greats Allen Vizzutti, Steve Weist, Chip McNeill, Lori Mechem and Wycliffe Gordon. She has recorded with the fabulous Marina Albero, Amina Scott, Bryant Watson, and Max Bronstein.
Specializing in the "Golden Age" of Broadway and Hollywood (1920s–1950s), her sets feature beloved standards such as "My Funny Valentine," "Someone to Watch Over Me," and "Misty." She also finds Brazilian jazz especially fun to perform. Known for impeccable pitch and a warm, smooth tone, she is gifted with an improvisational ability that honors the original melody while finding refreshing, vital expressions.
Drawing from the "Ladies of Song," including Julie London and June Christy, Sarah finds her inspiration also in the cool style of Chet Baker and “The Velvet Fog” Mel Torme, bringing "an established and genuine point of view" to romantic lyrics.
From intimate clubs and quiet restaurants to jazz festivals and grand stages, she has engaged audiences with a sound that is both "vintage and expanding." Whether appearing in a full big band jazz ensemble or performing with an intimate trio, Sarah remains dedicated to preserving and evolving this uniquely American art form. She is currently working on a new EP and booking gigs locally, nationally and internationally.

Sarah Politte is a rising jazz vocalist known for her warm, rich, and smooth tone, as she breathes new life into classic jazz standards. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, her musical journey began spontaneously with vocal lessons at age 13, where she quickly discovered a natural affinity for jazz. She is a truly accomplished performer, being involved in musical theatre for years and playing lead roles such as Dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz" and Liesl in "The Sound Of Music." Sarah is also two-time All-State Jazz vocalist, and has shared the stage with jazz greats like Wycliffe Gordon, Marina Albero, and the Lori Mechem Trio. She is currently booking both nationally and internationally and preparing for the release of her new EP, recorded at Marigny Studios in New Orleans, arriving in September 2026.
